  • Chinese motor?????? If I bought one it would have a lot to do with it being "Made in Germany."

Nothing against the hard-working and beautiful Chinese folks, it's just that it's nearly impossible to find anything these days that's not made by them.

  • Designed for girls? What planet are you from? The small GS's are legendary for their round the world trips (i.e.: durability, reliability). Its true they have a lower seat height than others and true the 650 isn't a monster in terms of power. Some people don't want/need a 100 HP monster. Good luck lifting an R1200GS after you drop it off roading.

  • @mesmerizeme - My thoughts exactly. Why do BMW risk their reputation this way? They may explain later in the vid but too late......I departed.

  • Every time one of these videos start the very first part makes me think Freak by Smashing Pumpkins is going to play... If you know the song than you know I'm not crazy.

  • fuck this i am outta hear chinese motor

  • Well, the original F650 single engine was manufactured for BMW by Austrian company Rotax while the bike was assembled by Aprilia (2000-2007), I own a 2005 F650gs and there is no way I will travel the Country trusting a Chinese engine.

  • 1. Many frame parts are corrosive.

    2. After 1 year, rust started to appear on mufflers (bike never seen rain and is being washed by waterless wash treatment only).

    3. At mileage of 400 km, right mirror got cracks.

    4. At age of 2 weeks, rubber ignition cover got cracks.

    5. One year old original battery is not able to start the bike, even being fully charged (and access to it is terrible).

    6. Front brakes seem to loose pressure as of day one.

    7. Starter motor is very weak for 652 cc engine.

  • my review was not finished below. after i took this bike to test ride i said forget it. than i took the 650 twin to test ride. this twin was SO powerfull, even i was at 2000 or 3000 rpm, the bike was pulling so nice even i was on the wrong gear! the engine is smooth and kick ass. the seat is uncomfy and needs better windshield. so i bought me the twin and happy with it. just ordered bmw comfort seat for it and will order calsci windshield next week than good to go to africa, china, russia....

  • i took one of these to test ride a few mos ago. i was dissapointed because the bike has no power up to 5000 rpm and all its power is between 5k and 7k! between 2k and 5k rpm the bike felt like scooter power. but my most complain was the engine, it was vibrating like my sonic electric toothbrush! after 20 minutes, i couldnt wait to take the bike back to the dealer because this engine vib was driving my feet, legs and my butt crazy! than i took 650 twin to test ride. OMG, WTF, what a smooth bike.

  • this is so popular in Finland almost every 3 or 4 bikes are these BMW

  • @ThaBeatDontStop -- hate to disappoint you but there are no BMW motorcycle factories in Munich. Their motorcyle plant is in Berlin and their 450 XCountry engines comes from Taiwan and the 650 engines either from Austria (Rotax) or China (Loncin).

  • here is what i think about this bike. a few days ago i had a chance to take 2011 model to test ride. i was extremly disappointed. first of all this single 650 vibrates like my electric sonic toothbrush on my boots and my butt. I had only 20 minutes on the bike but i was happy to take it back to dealer. Also this engine runs fine only between 5k rpm and 6500 rpm, that is it. so as soon as you twist the throttle, rpm comes to red line right away! i was like WTF?
