Stephane Dion has no answer to the question of what he would do on the economy. This video is a must watch.

  • Who is this guy?

Is he related to Celine Dion?

  • they both have similar voices..

  • Saying they are not going to show the clip then show the clip. Good to know what Murphy and CTVs word is worth. Sounds like a polititan flip flopping....remember that steve next time you comment on a politition that flip flops.

  • Right, attack the media for offering Dion the interview so he can explain his plan for Canada. It's not CTVs fault he has no plan!

  • Splatto - were you dropped on your head as a child? A badly worded question and an agreement - not the lack of a plan - are the issue.

  • I'm able to answer the question of what I would have done if I was Prime Minister. Dion must have been dropped on his.

  • Mr. Dion, please take ESL lessons first and then address your job application to Tim Hortons.

  • It's a shame that Dion is playing victim. He is playing the language card, disability card, and anything else that he thinks "this is unfair!". Clearly he was not ready for this question and even tried to answer it but realized it was a garbage answer so he wanted to start again.

  • Does anyone know if they attempted to ask him in french?

  • "If you were president today, what would have you done to prevent this crisis?" That actual question that Murphy asked Dion, doesn't actually make sense.

  • yikes. that was painful to sit through. it was like having to explain a pretend scenario to a child. he's clearly not as sharp as a potential prime minister should be. ex-nay on the vote.

  • DarcyTucker: "what would you have done" is the original. "how would you have handled" is your substitution.

Let's think this through... you substituted a subjunctive+future perfect for another subjunctive+future perfect. You changed "what" to "how" and you changed the verb "to do" to "to handle".

There is zero difference. I know if you were the interviewer you would have slow-pitched the question a dozen more times, but you couldn't have made it any simpler, grammatically and logically.

  • Dion's excuses:

    hearing problem

    language problem

    phrasing problem

The only reason you give multiple excuses is because you hope one of them is what others want to hear.

Some people latched onto the language, others to the hearing problem, and then when all else fails it's CTV's fault.

    Game-Set-Match.

  • If he can't understand "What would you have done?", he's not fit to be elected.

And if he CAN understand it and pretends not to be able too, then he doesn't deserve to be elected.

Either way ... this bud's perdue!
