That's it. In that era, at that hour, that is what I found for overnite A+E.

Wow, I remember seeing the promo reels in the morning before school, on both A&E and Discovery, back around 87-88 or so.  I also remember hearing DTMF tones on various cable stations every now and then.

I actually have a full A&E Promo Reel from 2/13/87 which is what that was. It was the way A&E fed the locally inserted commercials to cable companies to run on other channels. The times listed at the end was when A&E sent a signal through their audio channel to trigger the locally inserted commercials.

It used to be on Nickelodeon from 1981- 1985.
