"My name is Crystal, I am gay, I am from the 22nd Congressional District of New York, and I believe in full equality for all straight and LGBT Americans."
INSTRUCTIONS - Here's how you can join the "I Believe In Equality" YouTube Coming Out campaign!
1) Get a camcorder or camera that takes movie clips. If you don't have one, ask to borrow one from your friend.
2) Put yourself in front of the camera or camcorder.
3) Press the record button. Say the following statement. Include your name, your sexual orientation and your congressional district.
"My name is ____ (your name), I am ____ (your sexual orientation), I am from the __th Congressional District of ____ (your congressional district number and your state), and I believe in full equality for all straight and LGBT Americans."
Example:
"My name is Jane Smith, I am a lesbian, I am from the 4th Congressional District of Wisconsin, and I believe in full equality for all straight and LGBT Americans."
If you don't know what your congressional district is, go to NationalEqualityMarch.com/lookup, then enter your zip code. Below, you will see your Representative, and your Congressional District. Where it says "district" followed by two letters, a hyphen, two more letters, then two numbers, the last two letters represent your state, and the two numbers represent your district. For example, if you type in zip code 35816 for Huntsville, Alabama, and you see the combination FH-AL05, that means that you belong in the 5th Congressional district of Alabama.
4) If you have video editing software, attach a picture at the end of your video. Go to the website http://www.NationalEqualityMarch.com, download one of the two available pictures (wide screen or full screen), and put it at the end your video for 10-15 seconds before you upload it to YouTube.
5) Upload your video on your own YouTube channel. If you don't have a YouTube channel, sign up for one. It is free, and it is easy.
6) Title your video "I am ___ (your sexual orientation), and I Believe in Equality". Example: "I am Gay, and I Believe in Equality".
7) Fill in the description section on your YouTube video. Go back to the website http://www.NationalEqualityMarch.com and cut and paste the text instructions from (begin text) to (end text) onto your video on YouTube. Remember to fill in the empty lines in the beginning of the text before the instructions start, including your name, your sexual orientation, your congressional district and your state in your description. The description will help others who find your video understand this movement and join in.
8) Enter the following word in the tag section of your YouTube video: "lgbtMeetontheMall", all one word with no spaces.
Thanks for coming out, see you at the March!

~ENTHUSIASTIC APPLAUSE!~ There it is, the first truly homophobic comment! Congratulations, sir. You must be very proud. I know I'm very honored. And I have read a bible, thank you. I do recall some phrase floating around in there saying something like, oh, love thy neighbor as thyself.
