Hi, I'm Gary Piandes from GoldMail and I'd like to show you a GoldMail Sales technique that, if you try it, you may never cold call again.
Let's face it not every lead is going to be a warm one, sometime you have to engage a prospect who knows nothing about you or your company. A classic way to engage is the cold call.
Why do many salespeople not like doing it? For one thing, it's tough to get the right person live on the phone. That takes a lot of time. When you DO have the right person on, it can be difficult to begin the conversation or steer it the way you want. Plus we all know what it's like to be on the receiving end of a cold call. It can feel invasive. You feel like you're being pitched to on your time.
The sales people at our own company have had great success with this technique I'm about to show you that's a cold call alternative. They like it because it doesn't feel invasive, it gets prospect engaged and interested, With it, prospects actually feel pretty special and they get back to you.
so here's what you do, and like all situations, it's best to get referred, but I'm assuming you don't have a referral, find the person or prospect in the company who you think is most likely to be the decision-maker you're looker and get their picture online, The chances of you finding it on Facebook or linked-in are pretty good, you could even try a google search in the images tab and see if you can get something there. Once you get that image, you're going to use it as the first slide the first GoldMail slide.
Now I have my business card as my second slide, and then a few more slides that convey my value proposition. Because you don't have a warm relationship you want to keep this part really short, unless you can make the message really engaging, then you can make it longer. How do you know if it's engaging enough? Send it to someone you know and see what they think, or send it to yourself.
I have the script for the rest of my slides, so now I'll record the message [read the message]. So now I'm going to publish the message and send it as a picture link because that will increase the likelihood that the recipient on it when it's sent over email. And because the picture is of himself, that will increase the likelihood of him clicking on it even more.
Once you've created your value proposition slides, you can use them over and over, but personalizing that first slide goes a long way in turning your cold lead into a warm one.
And with GoldMail analytics you can see if they viewed your message, so you'll know if you should follow up or send another message.
