The wild turkey is a big intelligent bird with beautiful iridescent feathers. It almost became the national bird, but lost out because the eagle looked more majestic.

The young deer must have not had experience with turkeys and looked alarmed. They seemed to try to communicate their nervousness to the older deer.

Turkey vultures, also called buzzards, are named that because they resemble turkeys.
