Lyrics:
Yes my baby left me,
never said a word.
Was it something I done,
something that she heard?

My baby left me,
my baby left me.
My baby even left me,
never said a word.

Now I stand at my window,
wring my hands and cry.
I hate to lose that woman,
hate to say goodbye.

You know she left me,

yes, she left me.
My baby even left me,
never said a word.

Baby, one of these mornings,
Lord, it won't be long,
You'll look for me and,
Baby, and daddy he'll be gone.

You know you left me,
you know you left me.
My baby even left me,
never said goodbye.

Now, I stand at my window,
wring my hands and moan.
All I know is that
the one I love is gone.

My baby left me,
you know she left me.
My baby even left me,
never said a word.

  • have been an Elvis fan since 1956, but believe it or not, I only finally realized in about 1996 that this tune and "That's All Right" had the same melody...

  • no where without scotty moores guitar.

  • His brilliance is unspeakable. No words for it. It's a greatness beyond explanation. I think Phil Spector said it best for me: "You have no idea how great he is. you really don't. It's just impossible." Sammy Davis tried: "On a scale of one to ten I give Elvis an eleven." And Robert Plant: "All we knew about Elvis was he sang like a motherfucker and that's all that mattered" or Ian Gillian "when I heard the voice of EP--you knew it was coming from the source". We keep trying but can't express.

  • masterful guitar by Scotty Moore here...

  • .*****Thumbs up

  • @McCoYiSaWsOmE101 Yes. Both songs were written by Arthur Crudup!

  • .. i swear i clicked the wrong video. it sounds just like That's Alright Mama!

  • @bettyboob486 His best sun recording was not issued untill he moved to RCA, "Trying to get to you" was the best early Elvis number IMO.

  • the original "Baby Lets Play House" on sun records was his

    best ever on Sun recordings

  • Look That's alright mama? isn't me

    Love it!!!

  • @mariobernard Listen to Shakin' Stevens singing this tune (Shaky sings elvis)

  • this is totaly different from the crudup version, how can anyone be so blind as to not recognise the fresh approach these guys had, and the energy that still comes off this recording?
