His brilliance is unspeakable. No words for it. It's a greatness beyond explanation. I think Phil Spector said it best for me: "You have no idea how great he is. you really don't. It's just impossible." Sammy Davis tried: "On a scale of one to ten I give Elvis an eleven." And Robert Plant: "All we knew about Elvis was he sang like a motherfucker and that's all that mattered" or Ian Gillian "when I heard the voice of EP--you knew it was coming from the source". We keep trying but can't express.

this is totaly different from the crudup version, how can anyone be so blind as to not recognise the fresh approach these guys had, and the energy that still comes off this recording?



have been an Elvis fan since 1956, but believe it or not, I only finally realized in about 1996 that this tune and "That's All Right" had the same melody...
