John Carter the newest movie from Academy Award®--winning filmmaker Andrew Stanton is an action adventure story set on Barsoom, the exotic and mysterious planet we know as Mars. Based on the classic novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs, creator of Tarzan, John Carter is the story which inspired many of the most imaginative and well known Hollywood movies, past and present. Next year will mark the 100th anniversary of the John Carter character, first created in the Edgar Rice Burroughs novel.

In a world on the brink of collapse, John Carter rediscovers his humanity when he realizes that the survival of Barsoom and its people rests in his hands.

John Carter is released in UK cinemas on 9 March 2012.

Andrew Stanton directed Wall-E, Finding Nemo and co-directed A Bug's Life whilst at Pixar.

  • @qwozle see that's the problem with movies these days, even if someone thought it up 40 years ago, someone no a days will say that they took it off of someone else in the future, whose to say that George Lucas wasn't inspired by this guys work and came up with star wars after he read them? Hell I came up with my book after seeing star wars back in the 70's when it first came out. But I know if I get it published someone will come at me and say I ripped it off of someone else. know what I mean?

  • Was that a weird remix of Kashmir from Led Zeppelin at the end?

  • @beamerreamer Your right and I'm another Burroughs reader, I started at 12 in school and five years ago when I moved to Mexico I donated my set of books that I kept for years, I'm almost 70 so you can see I'm a true fan and have read all of the series.

  • What I wonder is if Andrew Stanton actually read the books, cause most of what's in this trailer isn't in the books, at least not in the first three. Why can't they just act out what's in the book. I'm looking forward to seeing it though. There is a need for some new SIFI in the world. I hope it does well.

  • Its like Treasure Planet. only 99x manlier.

  • The trailer is wonderful. I look forward to the movie. John Carter will be on my list of movies to see.

  • Исполняется детская мечта! Вот бы еще "Дюну" кто по-человечески снял. Без МакЛохалана.

  • The shorter trailer that directed me here was better. This just makes it look like Yet Another Hollywood "Epic". I hope the actual movie will still be entertaining, but... we'll see. Also, no, the foreword did not help.

  • when i clicked for Full Trailer..i didnot expect the director to introduce himself
