Rolling Down Robinwood Street, Detroit Michigan

A mashup of a video I shot rolling down Robinwood Street in Detroit Michigan, and the famous Eminem Chrysler commercial from the 2011 Superbowl.

Robinwood Street has become sort of a symbol of the urban blight that continues to dismantle many of Detroit's neighborhoods. On this street alone, 60 out of 66 houses are either abandoned, fire ravaged, foreclosed, or have been demolished.

This video shows one side of the street.

Excellent quality. I see a lot of the homes have been recently demolished. Did you shoot the other side of the street or Hollywood St.? Marabel's former home seems to be in better condition than the rest of the homes.

@Mavicaguy Yeah i spend alot of time on Street View but the pics are now well out of date. Those pics of Robinwood are from 09. Check out the vid by...boonader93 on here. Most of the street has gone now as his vid was shot just a month ago. Watched the Marabel vids a while back, VERY sad way to spend your last years on earth.

There is a lot of Black and White bickering going on here. Let me tell who used to live in that neighborhood. Iraqi Chaldeans. Don't believe me? Stop by the Chaldean center on 7 mile and ask them yourself. The people in Iraq are warned, in Iraq, not to move to the 7 mile and Woodward area. Of course this was years ago when these homes were still occupied. They became addicted to drugs and with that comes crime and the end result is Robinwood Street.

@budbino78 It looks exactly the same. I just did a Googlemap drive by. See for yourself. Put in 461 W. Robinhood. That address has a very sad story attached to it. An old lady named Marabel Chanin. Her video's are here on Youtube. Just type in her name and watch the new reports. It truly is a sad story.

Simple fact- the auto industry died in detroit it was NO ONES fault- it went over seas and Japan, Benz, Beamer had a nice run. A film 1 week in length @ the rate of 3 seconds per house? That would equal 200,000 houses. Even @ 30 seconds per house that's still 20,000 houses.

There can't be 20,000 abandoned houses in all of Wayne County.
