Note: Meanwhile this Heli is sold! (may 2009)

It's now 4 month ago i started flying Heli. After the Belt CP
Carbon Edition i bought a Honey Bee King 2 (it is cheaper in case of crashes) and it was a great decision! I lost some of my fear and things work out much better instantly.
This is the ARF Kit, using a Brushless motor Esky 3800KV, RAIDEN 11.1v 2250mAh 20/30C LiPo battery and Futaba 6EX 2.4Ghz 6ch.
Since the servos stear the Swashplate through a direct Push Rod, it's controls are much more sensetive than the Belt CP's, it's a bit harder to control. But it might be because i connected the Push Rods to the fare end of the servoarm.
And it is a wonderful feeling getting rid of the Training Set :-)
And sorry for the more or less bad vidquality - i shot it using a FlyCamOne2, attached to the shield of my Baseballcap. Considering the size of the camera i think it's doing very well.

  • pretty good man, i got my HBK2 four days ago, and im afraid to lift the thing off the floor, bin trying to set the tail up properly before i fix my hh gyro, ill have a go at flying it tomoz, lol

  • thanks.

i wish you luck. go for it. i love my HBK2, much more than my Carbon Belt Cp. And do not worry to crash ( you can not prevent it, it will happen sooner or later), but the HBK2 is very easy to fix and very cheap in spare parts.

just take it slow and easy. i certainly do and still have so much fun.

    greets

  • Being a HBK2 "pilot" my self I gotta say - good choice of tune :-) How long indeed, its going to happen, the only question is when. you got great control of that though, I have just managed to hover out a complete pack for the first time tonight since getting the HBK2 a while ago now but I do not get as much time as I would like to fly and I dont have anywhere like that to fly in, nice soft grass to crash and burn into . .looks like it would just bounce off that, keep it up.

  • Thanks. Well, after i shot the video i "crashed" a little bit - something went wrong and i decided to drop it into the high gras from around 2 meter. Only the feathering shaft was bend and i was back in the air quite quickly the next day.

I am just too afraid of gaining altitude yet......

Hope you will find your time, cause it is a great feeling when you progress yourself. Good luck with your little Bee.

  • Nice place and good flying. The music sucks tho

  • Great flying man! And very nice place also. Where do you live?

  • Great job man !! I myself learned to hover on a Heli-Max Axe CP. My first CP heli was a Walkera 36, which I had a boom strike on the 1st flight. I also have a Belt CP, but I started doing ff flight and circuits on a Walkera 4 FP. Now I'm doing slow circuits on my CP birds. I just got a Honeybee King 2 yesterday, and love the response on the controls. I'm hoping for light 3D by the end of summer !!! Keep up the great flying !!
