In this tutorial, Beth Hemmila of Hint Jewelry demonstrates how to use 26 gauge fine silver wire and a creme brulee micro torch to create handmade headpins for gems and beads. This is a fun and economical way to personalize your jewelry designs with delightful dangles. Please remember to follow safety precautions while using a flame torch. • Love my torch. Have been using it for 3 years without a problem, but it is not from Harbor Freight.

  • I am using fine silver wire not solder wire, and I don't use any flux. There is little oxidation because it is fine silver instead of sterling.

  • What is in the yellow cup please as my sound has gone...thank you ;)

  • @vonniescrafts1

cold water is in the yellow cup

  • will this work for sterling silver?

  • @ASimpleNest

yes, though not as slick and it will result in some fire scale

  • Thank you, THANK YOU AND THANK YOU for adding Close Captioning! I will be absolutely sure to share this with friends of mine who are also interested in the arts. We share lots of frustrations where we want to learn something and cannot because it's not captioned. Thank you for being so very considerate and thoughtful! GREAT Tutorial!

  • Wow how resourceful of you to create this method of making your own headpins and the bonus is that they have the pretty ball on the end. I just love this and thank you for sharing it with us. Outstanding !
