MIKKO HYPPONEN - safe internet will lead the future
Mikko Hypponen is Chief Research Officer of F-Secure, a company specialized in computer security issues. But that's not all. Hypponen is more than just a cyber crime expert helping firms and governments to protect their soft- and hardware. He leads the way in defending the worldís networks from malicious software and cyber crime.
Hypponen fights for cyber crime being dealt with just as seriously and universally as crime in the streets. He still believes a safe internet can lead the future. Thatís why he assists law enforcement in the USA, Europe and Asia on cybercrime cases and advises governments on cyber crime.

About TEDx, x = independently organized event.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized,* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

  • @tdreamgmail Windows 7 FTW!!! lol

  • @saaste

Ahhhh, thats why the public was laughing. Ironic, to say the least. Nice catch.

  • @tdreamgmail

    He means comparably obviously.

Being on none XP lowers the risk, but its not like there isnt Mac viruses.

Overall though, there is no point staying on XP anymore. Specially when Microsoft have stopped security updates it and similar older OSs. XP is OPEN for hackers now.

  • That is a massive statment Mikko made at the end Mac is SAFE!! I mean really if you're still on Windows XP now, this is the final news you need to hear to upgrade.

  • Lulz

He picks the 13 year old kid (from US) who got busted because he didn't protected himself when he did the DDOS attack....

    EPIC FAIL Mikko

  • Yes we need internation internet police to protect internet and democracy ofcourse, also we need internation Gulag, and internation Stalin.

  • @Parrarraa Yes, but could the users be viruses? ;)

And the virus part is a consequence from having smaller amount of users.
