He was afraid of metallica at the time(that was probably during one of his not-so-stable periods), he thought they were going to beat him up or something...... he is a big fan of theirs though, he really doesn't listen to indie rock or punk, or noise or anything underground and out there I think.

I don't really understand why people feel sorry for him so much. I think it's awful that he has to suffer his mental illness of course, but nobody wants to be seen as a tragedy, and keep in mind that he's doing what he loves. He's accomplished much of what he set out to do as an artist. What I'm saying is that he isn't making his art to be pitied, he's making it to be enjoyed.
