MUSIC RINGTONES
1. go to tigow.com
2. search music
3. download music
4. drag and drop it into itunes
5. set time limit (start and stop)
6. convert to AAC
7. go back to albums and open the new unknown album (AAC album)
8. copy and paste the AAC version to the desktop
9. rename it from .m4a to .m4r
10. drag and drop the .m4r version to itunes
11. rename ringtone
12. sync ringtone
13. delete unknown album(s) of the ringtone (both full song and AAC version unless u want to keep the full song)
14. keep .m4r file version on desktop so it doesn't have the exclamation mark beside it and u keep the ringtone

VOICE MEMO RINGTONES
1. create a voice memo
2. sync it to itunes and make sure voice memo is checked under the music tab
3. copy and paste it to desktop
4. rename it from .m4a to .m4r
5. drag and drop the .m4r version to itunes
6. sync ringtone
7. delete voice memo unknown album but keep .m4r file version on desktop so it doesn't have the exclamation mark and u keep the ringtone

  • you helped there were a couple of things i learned....uncheck hide extension boxes ...and i thought i had checked sync ringtones but i guess i hadn;t thanks again

  • If you would like to know how to change ".m4a" to ".m4r" in vista, here's how:

    - go start -> computer

    - in the top left, under the the "forward" and "back" buttons, go "Organise"

    - go "Folder and Search Options."

    - go to the tab "view"

    - un-check the box "Hide extensions for known file types."

    You can change it just as simply as the guy in the video did after that.The song file will now have the ".m4a" just like in windows xp or whatever it is.

  • i have the ringtone in RINGTONES...but it dosen`t apear in the device...so i can`t sync.... I don`t understand why....I followed all the steps...

  • @nancydean14 itunes> "your iphone"> music> make sure the ringtone is selected. also, make sure it's .m4r

  • @ipodtouchacker nope does not work

  • @nancydean14 go to itunes and then go to music and make sure the ringtones are "synced"
