2010 Ninja 250 0-60MPH & 60MPH Overtaking Abilities

Various people have asked me to demonstrate the Ninja's ability to get to 60MPH. People have also been very interested if the bike has enough power to pass or overtake other traffic on the road while cruising at 60MPH.

In regards to the zero to sixty segment, I really feel that my take off is what's hurting this the most. If you can see past my slow clutch release into first gear, it would probably shave off a few seconds.

I try to demonstrate (quite crudely) both of these situations in this video.

had a brand new 250r for one month..fun for about 30 feet, lost money but got a deal on a 900, to avoid this problem buy the 600 or 650, no question

Where do you place your camera (gopro?) and how do you get such good audio?

@CodeCXF You will wanna start on a 600cc bike man. 250 for your size may be a bit lackluster for you. I am your same size and i started with a R6 and it was a great learner bike. than I wqent up to a R1 when I improved.

@freespadersuggs also, make no mistake, the 250 is powerful BUT, it still "looks" a little faster than it really is, if that makes any sense.

This bike is fun to zip around in the city and as a basic commuter around town with some highway ability. you need to ask what kind of riding you will do. are you mostly muscle? average? fat? in terms of power this bike will move you just fine. In terms ofheight 6 ft is ok. if this is your first bike then all the better, but considering your size, a 500 or 650 will be better for you.

@shonor6 250s are very light ( in "lightweight" sport bike class :P) so it only makes sense that they are much more maneuverable than say a 1400cc GSXR. These things can turn on a dime but also keep in mind that on freeway speeds with high winds these bikes aren't the best.

Duude I love your camera and the scenery where you live. I just got a 2012 ninja 250 (black/yellow) 2 days ago and am a new rider as well. I live in Las Vegas, NV and its intense driving here.. kinda intimidating. I love your streets though. They are so nice. I subscribed too.

I've been practising with this bike for a few weeks now and I love it :) I only just took out on the road yesterday and holy crap she flyes :O definitily surprised for sure :) though I do have to admit I do only weigh 60KG which is the equivilent of 130 pounds ^^ what kind of 0-60 times do you think I can get with this bike being as light as I am? I have a full Leo vince exhaust system on it so far I intend putting a K&N on it soon. I have the FI black 2011 model also :D

@freespadersuggs there is a balance of power to turning ratio and because the ninja 250 runs on parallel twin you still have a lot of power with a short turning radius. a lot of peopel out there, mostly kids and teenagers, don't realize how great this motrocycle is , which is a shame. a large numer of first time buyers buy this bike b/c it looks cool, or want a big bike styling, and ignore what this bike has to offer.

@RETICS1 in terms of power and speed and your gf getting bored of the bike see my comment above. in terms of turning power, for perhaps your purposes, then the bike is an incredible machine for this as well. i have onwed a 250 and 650 and on the 650 I felt at turns, no matter the speed felt I was pushed out constantly at centrifugal force. ON the 250 because it is a smaller bike the turning radius is shorter and in traffic, can be that much better in cutting corners. the 250 is a great bike
