Here we have the Flynn Amps Tweed Champ demo recorded dry with no effects or boosters. This is the amp used by Eric Clapton on the Layla sessions so we thought it would be nice to try some Eric Clapton style guitar with it. • Haha, as usual! The video's are very informal and we just switch on the camera and record for a bit then edit the footage. I should do a few practice takes first.

    Cheers,

    Stevie Flynn.

  • squishy, fuzzy, clear as day...fender champs

  • @glassslide Cheers for the nice comment. The Champ is a real workhorse amp in the studio and at home. A giant killer if you mic it up at gigs too! My all time favourite Chicago blues guitar tone probably.

  • Even with the compressed you tube sound, this amp sounds killer---well done!

  • @StevieFlynn Thank you so much Stevie for clarifying my doubts.

    Hi there,

the build is an exact mid 50's spec Champ with carbon comp resistors, waxed eylet boards, CTS pots and even reproduction cloth covered wire. We do sometimes tweak the circuit when customers want a specific thing but the stock circuit is usually the way to go.

    Thanks, Stevie.

  • What is the difference between this amp and the Fender Tweed Champ?

  • It's a 2000 Fender custom shop with a Clapton neck. It's got an amazing flamed neck with Eric's favourite soft 'V' profile. The pickups are Fender noiseless which are great for clean and crisp tones. It was pure white when new but now it's starting to yellow quite a bit.

    Cheers, Stevie

  • Just out of curiosity, what sort of Strat is the white one? So beautiful!

  • that a fucking crunch tone love it so natural warm great job
