one of the saddest songs I've ever heard. (& I've heard a few tear-jerkers).
-
brawladdie1 Thank you I was wondering because the 1st weekend of June there is a RenFest abt 80 miles from here. I was trying to find a story or figure that would allow me to include my imprinted duck. She is a big hit every year. One rainy year she was declared the Queen's royal moto tester.

The intensity of this song is overwhelming. The words of the song coincide perfectly with this song's mourning melody.

One of my fav corries songs, very atmospheric

great post!! makes up for the lack of a full recording on the wicker man soundtrack. just wanted to ask as well, what is that thing which looks like the skin of some ones face?

@ooooooooser It's the mask that the Covenanter Alexander Peden used to disguise himself when being hunted down by royal dragoons. Go to the geograph website and enter Peden's Mask into the search box.

question where would I find children's story from around 1500's in Scotland

The short answer is, you won't. Scottish literature gets going in the 15th-16thC, then goes into hibernation until the late 18thC. Did you mean a children's story set in the 1500s, or from the 1500s? Either way, you'll draw a blank. In the 19thC, writing for children gets going with Scott's 'Tales Of A Grandfather', more an adult-level read nowadays, followed by the great adventure stories of R L Stevenson, also pitched way too high for a lot of modern kids' reading level.
