  • Blair was singing this theme at the beginning of todays episode!

  • @Y2Jin99 That was a great treat. It would be nice if they did that because they are teasing us about a refreshed opening using that theme!

  • Who is that woman @ [[00:24]]

  • Julia Medina followed by Dorian Lord

  • @whitbyterry Oh yeah, isn't this when Dixie Carter played Dorian?

  • @MystroMusicMan I don't recall that unless it was a one day substitute.

  • @VaultMasterDBT It's no big deal, just playing around.

I really can't say much about how long Dixie played Dorian except during a specific period including this one because, I never kept up with her. It could have been for a day, like a poster had said earlier, or longer. I do understand why it's doubtful. Who knows how or why since I have no idea of the stipulations of her contract with CBS.

  • OK, we need to break this down, because clearly you're taking my dry text as being fortright and pretentious, when it wasn't to begin with. For that misunderstanding, I am sorry.

Dixie Carter filled in for Nancy Pinkerton as Dorian in the early 1970s. Therefore, it is correct to have doubt over Dixie having appeared on OLTL circa 1990, when she was in the midst of a primetime role on a competing network (CBS). When primetime stars stop by daytime soaps, it usually occurs on the same network.

  • @VaultMasterDBT So, when I'm told "You must be dreaming". I was to simply just 'turn the other cheek' because I had no right to a rebuttal. Understood, your highness.

Yes, Dixie has played "Dorian" for a short time. Some cases, it does matter due to networks insisting on actors working exclusively with them. But she did so, there you have it.

  • Do not demean me with that insipid use of the word 'fail'. I never did imply being unaware that actors have done primetime roles concurrent with daytime roles. You're missing the point that Dixie Carter was under contract to a different network at the time. I was unaware that she ever played Dorian Lord as a temp. If so, it must have been heavliy promoted. I can understand if Dixie appeared in a one-time shot, but it would have been impossible for her to do longer on OLTL, given the obvious.

  • @VaultMasterDBT Fail. Obviously she 'temped' as "Dorian" because Robin played the role again. People have done soaps and even filmed MOVIES during the same period. The actor who played "Todd" acted on both One Life To Live and a prime-time show at the same time for a little while. Really. lol.

  • Dixie Carter? When she would have been on Designing Women? On CBS? You must be dreaming.

  • @MystroMusicMan I agree, I hated the 2000's with all the coming back from the dead, face changes and the whole Mitchel Lawrence got old and let's not forget the whole baby switch thing.....Soaps back in the days were really good

  • @Suspiria10 I wasn't even though about in the 70's lol. I only know what I know from the 80's because my mother was such a fanatic. I saw it off-and-on when I did watch. The early 90's 91-94 was probably my favorite time watching. The 2000's. somewhat. but yes, it did go downhill. I felt the storylines were rather dumb with all the time-traveling and the whole back-from-the-dead stunts, etc. Even though I'd still peek in from time-to-time.

  • @MystroMusicMan Its a shame that OLTL went down hill its final years especially the last decade. I loved the show back in the 70's and 80's and some early 90's.

  • @Suspiria10 I think she was a Playmate. A few of them that acted on OLTL were models and playmates, I remember hearing. They used to say Soaps were a model's haven when they wanted to break into acting. lol.

I was way too young back then but I LOVED Andrea, and Fiona too! :)
