  • Nicely done. Tidy and sweet. Tasty.

  • wow, now i need to buy your music, you are just awesome!

  • Von Huene contrabass in F

  • Is the recorder, left center, a Contra Bass or Sub Contra Bass?

  • @veggieburgerfish

I personally find wooden ones far superior. The plastic ones sound so metallic an cold...

  • Any chance that you will be coming to Australia in the near future?

  • ...the plastic ones for study at home for hours (remember the moisture) and the wooden ones for playing in concert.

3.- If you want to learn well and you have a lot of money and want to expend it, you can buy two sets of professional recorders (one for study and the other one to use it when the others are wet), and buy another set again when it be neccesary and so on. Personally, i couldn't afford that, lol, If i were you, I'll pick the first option

  • ...moisture on it and the sound begin to lack its beauty. About the intonation and response, a feel them equal, so I venture to say there's no great difference between them.

Summing up, you'd rather choose between this three options:

1.- If you want to learn well and begin in the recorder world, without paying a lot of money, you'd rather buy a set of plastic recorders.

2.- If you want to learn well, but money is not important, you'd rather buy a set of plastic and a set o wooden recorders...

  • I have both, a plastic and a wooden recorder and I prefer the wooden one because of its soft sound...the sound of the plastic one is more brilliant and maybe not as beautiful...but if you play it well you can amaze the people that is listening. If you are beginning, try using the plastic one, it is easy to care and you can play it for hours (and that's is important if you would like to become a good player); the wooden ones are not suitable to be played for hours because the get too much...

  • is that a contrabass recorder there? I'm new to recorder music...

I have a yamahah plastic recorder in the cupboard, would you say there is a great deal of difference in the dynamic response, intonation or timbre of a plastic recorder as opposed to a wooden one? If so, I will consider purchasing a wooden one, because I have fallen in love with their sound...
