I remember my parents waking me up to watch this. It was WAY past my bedtime--I was 6 years old,, now I'm 48 and can re-live this all over again. (First step was 10:56pm.) Thanks Mom and Dad!

I was not quite yet born when this happened, I've never seen the whole broadcast before. What an amazing time. I've never known a world where man had not yet walked on the moon, how incredible it must have been to witness this. To the moon hoaxers who will no doubt have something snide to say, don't waste your breath. Your ridiculous theories bear no weight with me or anyone else with a working cognitive ability. How sad it must be for you to be unable to feel the sense of wonder.

The landing used slow-scan television incompatible with commercial TV, so it was displayed on a special monitor and a conventional TV camera viewed this monitor, significantly reducing the quality of the picture.

Also, it was 1969 and the feed was coming from THE FREAKING MOON.
