Daisy the Greyhound goes for a run

Over 40,000 views! Thank you all so much! Adopt a greyhound, get yourself a friend for life! Don't worry, our Daisy is still a humble girl, she likes nothing more than napping, pigs' ears, napping, running about like a loon and napping.

Can any other greyhounds sit on command, or is Daisy just strange? Let me know, guys!

This is my greyhound, Daisy. We rescued her from the retired greyhound trust, who can be found at this address: www.retiredgreyhounds.co.uk

We've never looked back now, as we love taking her for walks and sharing our home with her.

We recently found a closed-in patch of grass near our home, so we decided to let her have a run in it. This is what happened.

The music used to be "Chariots of Fire", but turns out that's not allowed. So we picked this instead. For best effects, turn the volume down and hum "Chariots of Fire" with your fingers in your ears. Mind you, this song is alright, whatever it is...

@erectance That's always the main worry people seem to have with greyhounds. There are quite a few people who never let theirs off the leash, and that makes me kind of sad. The thing is, because these dogs are so fast, distance means a lot less to them, so they'll get considerably further from you without getting worried. Another thing Daisy here does is spend ages sniffing at something while you carry on walking, just so she can gallop to catch up with you.

I respect your views but if you think they are ugly, why watch a video of them? I personally think pugs and chihuahuas are ugly so wouldn't want to watch videos of them. Greyhounds are beautiful, loving dogs and in my opinion there are no more graceful dogs on Gods earth.

Daisy is gorgeous. One of our greyhounds' sits but not on command. I think she does it because she knows she looks cute and tends to do it when someone's eating,knowing full well that she'll get a scrap from your plate!! Tell her to sit and she looks at you as if you're stupid.

Beautiful dogs. It should be compulsary to own at least one!

That's one fast dog. About how many miles do you think can he clock? Lovely dog. If I had the room I'd get a few of them. They certainly need to run a lot. :)

guy's as much as i respect anyone and everyone's opinions i have two grayhounds and have had them for a very long time. i addopted and recently we had to but my oldest down. and training greyhounds is fun and in a way hard to do. mostly because like you said, you were wondering if your greyhound was weird because she wouldent sit. greyhounds are very unique and we never trained ours to sit. only to lay down. greyhounds have very little fat on their butt so it makes it painful for them to sit.

greyhounds can absolutely sit on command! as far as i've seen, they're very intelligent creatures. i work at a doggie day care in california, and the needlenoses i work with are lovely, and will always sit if i ask. :]

my bestfriend and neighbour has a husky that does the same thing but just a little faster. I think your greyhound is a beautiful animal :)
