  • The problem there, is you're doing nothing but repeating a phrase said by some douche involved with this abortion of a television show.

The second you said that, you proved you had no experience with the game and should stop talking about it.

So, that's what I'm telling you, don't talk shit about shit you don't play, there is nothing else to say.

  • As well as that, competitive can also mean macrotactics, in RTS games and FPS games, positioning yourself around the map for advantages, etc.

And microtactics, seen in most fighting games.

Now, the problem I originally had with your post, had nothing to do with it being an "e-sport" I'd rather it not be an e-sport, so the Arcade machines aren't infested with faggots.

    The problem was merely this:

"its nothing but memory of each song on each difficulty"

  • Well, actually, it has the potential to be a "sport" even more so than other games.

Because the definition of "sport" includes physical activity.

See, what's happening here, is it isn't fitting what you believe to be a "competitive game"

If you can compete, it is competitive, in this case, it is competing for a higher score.

  • @animekid200 Its not popular opnion its fact your opponent cant do anything to stop you from trying to play the game theres no head to head involved in it. Its two people playing the computer trying to get a higher score. Your are getting offended cus im saying while its hard to do well in the game its not a compatitive game and will never be an e sport. Its like saying board games are sports.

  • "neither of my comments were mean or rude"

Of course not, they're just incredibly stupid, nothing grinds my gears more than someone talking about something they have never experienced themselves, and merely grab onto popular opinion and repeat it.

I'm sorry that Youtube has a small character limit, but there's nothing wrong with making more comments merely to say what I need to say.

I play drums, once again you're just making assumptions based on popular opinion and common stereotypes.

  • @animekid200 Lol the only one being butthurt is you. Where neither of my comments were mean or rude and yours are, and you responded with 3 comments to my one. Obviously never seriously played any guitar like instrument.Sure some people are just able to make the chords naturally the first couplle of tries with natural talent. But for people who arent gifted with it. But as you practice even people who arent good at it will pick it up

  • Me: I've been playing for 2 years or so, yet, I'm somehow better than a huge pile of people who have been dedicated fans of the series since the original more than 10 years ago, who have hit a difficulty wall that they simply can't pass.

If people have a limit as to how good they can get that they've been stuck at for years and years and years, you know damn well that it's just as hard as the majority of other games.

Now please, get your butthurt antics out of here.

  • Let's look here, at exactly why you're completely wrong:

Difficulty walls: Everyone encounters these walls where they simply can't play songs at a specific difficulty rating as quickly as their progression was before, it takes months of playing what they already know to finally play a song at the next difficulty rating and beat the song.

Sight Reading: All the really good DDR players cleared Paranoia ~Hades~ their first try, no muscle memory involved, and the patterns in that song are a mess.

  • Actually, it is competitive, it just doesn't fit your twisted sub definition of competitive.

If it comes to the beat of the song, that just means you need rhythm, regardless of BPM, if the arrows are coming in without regarding a pattern or pre set structure, it's about reacting.

Like I said, it would be smart to not talk about shit you know nothing about.

  • DDR is nothing more then muscle memory and knowing the song. Cus even if it is "random" the arrows still come in to the time of the beat. Competitive means actually being able to play against someone else and testing their abilites with tactics strategy and knowledge of the game. A game where two people try and get a higher score then the other person and have little to know direct effect against the person their playing is not all that competitive.
