I remember when I was investigating the LDS church all those years ago and I first read about this baptism for the dead thing. I thought, "What kind of wacky cult had I gotten myself into???" I was raised Episcopalian and this was all so new to me. Nobody ever taught me anything about that! But then I discovered it was in the BIBLE!!! Mainstream churches just overlook this or don't know what to make of it. But it really does make sense. I can't imagine being a member of any other church.

@pride2Beme If the Paradise Jesus spoke of is not Heaven, then what is it? Paradise sounds like a pretty good place to me, and if Heaven isn't paradisical, I don't want to go there. Not to be facetious, but was the thief kind of shadowing Jesus, waiting around invisibly for him to ascend?
