  • i like this version but robbie knocked it out the park.....im sorry robbie made it sound better.

  • I always knew Robbie's version and loved it too. I finally clicked on this one and I love it too. Great music

  • @ShadyLanePro , It really doesn't matter.. A great musician, is a great musician.. It doesn't matter what color, creed, religion, or financial background... My mother is from Ireland and my father is from Memphis, TN.. I have five brothers and were all musicians.. We can sound like Dru Hill, We can sound like Earth, Wind, and Fire, We can sound like Billy Ray, and we can sound like sound Randy Travis. Music is the key to life.

  • Best Version

  • @hollowmenrule "C'est La Vie" is by American singer Robbie Nevil from his self-titled 1986 debut album. It was first recorded by gospel singer Beau Williams for his 1984 album Bodacious! Written by Nevil w/Duncan Pain & Mark Holding, Nevil recorded the song for his eponymous debut album, and it was released as the first single. Nevil's single spent 2 wks @ #2 on the U.S. singles chart in Jan 1987 & remained in the top 40 for 16 wks, becoming his highest-charting U.S. hit.

  • @hollowmenrule Oh my goodness, I am rolling on the floor laughing out loud, because I am such a dumb head. Are you saying that Robbie Nevil is a white man? I thought he was just a really beautiful black man, or one of those new race people. Too bad. You know what, I don't believe you, I say he is a REALLY BEAUTIFUL AMERICAN. Is he American? I hope so, oh well.

  • @hollowmenrule What a twat bringing race into this. That's a huge chip you've got on your shoulder.

  • Enlightened person just saying 'THANK U' for posting. I was oblivious. KL

  • I saw the interview where the asian lady asked robbie about working on this song with beau, and he looked stunned that she knew. even though they DID work on this together, he didn't want that known, this song was/is hard to find online, white man stealing from the black man, I will wait for angry white responses, though I won't respond,

  • Beau recorded it first (1984). Robbie's version came out in 1986. Both records were released via EMI. (Beau was on Capitol Records; Robbie recorded for Manhattan Records).
