I listen to both TI and Jim Jones, coming from someone who listen to both, Jim has a slight edge in lyrical ability people just riding on TI's wave bcuz TI is the bigger name. If we was talking about Jim Jones when he 1st came in the rap game I would give it to TI, but Jim J. improved his rap style alot and I would say TI rap skill actually decreased over the years. TI hasnt been up to par sense "Urban Legend"," That "King" album was weak in comparison.

TI isnt more lyrical then any rapper on east or west coast, he is an average rapper that bases his music on hooks and beats. TI doesnt rap about nothing but his ex drug life, jail, luxury, and self-claimed King of South.
My comment above already stated guys like Wayne, Ross, and Luda style of music sound nothing like southern style. Ross and Luda sound like east coast and Wayne has many styles. And Andre has a more Pop music now a days.

@cipherP9 T.I. is far better than Jim Jones Lyrically. He is not Nas or Raekwon but he is far ahead of Jones.
Southern Rappers have really stepped up, Andre 3000 is as good as anyone, Ludacris and Lil Wayne can hold thier own with anyone so lets not put the south down

Alot of people in the east and west coast think southern style music is trash rap, thats why Ludacris, Lil Wayne, and Rick Ross style diverse from southern style.

Jim Jones is upset that TI didnt put any of The Diplomats into the swagger record and they been saying the phrase for years and it looks like TI is trying to claim it. TI isnt lyrically superior to anyone, he is a southern rapper and he raps like it. TI songs rely on hooks and beats, not lyrics.
Look at what TI has on in this video, is that any swagger? TI is good but quite a bit overrated, he was better back in his rubber band man days
