Following his acclaimed Spring/Summer 2009 ready-to-wear show for Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs knew exactly who he wanted to embody the spirit of the season: Madonna should be the face of Louis Vuitton's Spring/Summer fashion campaign.
The iconic pop star was photographed by her long-time creative collaborator Steven Meisel, the first time the influential fashion photographer has shot a campaign for Louis Vuitton. The chemistry between the two is evident as in a sepia-toned setting reminiscent of a Paris café in the Forties, with its zinc bar, bentwood chairs and air thick with smoke Madonna transforms into Marc Jacobs' vision of the quintessential Parisienne, striking provocative poses in the season's sexy short skirts, ethnic-inspired sandals and animal-print bangles. The first visuals show Madonna with the collection's emblematic slouchy bags in Monogram canvas and Monogram-embossed leather.
"I wanted the campaign to be very bold, very sensual and very atmospheric. To carry off all these references and all this sophistication, we needed the ultimate performer and for me, that is Madonna " says Marc Jacob

@TrueColorsDesign It's great, that she uses her popularity and her money to help Malawi. But I think that Vuitton, Versace and all kinds of luxury are a part of the Malawi-Problem. Malawi is poor because other countries don't feel rich enough to give money away. And the reason for not feeling rich enough is the desire for luxury. Every advertisement that glorifies luxury brings a kind of "wrong message" to peoples minds.

Oh pulaseee people!!! Fashion is just an industry like, food, cars, oil...that 's not as necessary as a 50 dollar dress or food, it's not Madonna's or any fashion house problem because some ppl can afford it!!!
If she get's paid for doing this or any other fashion campaign it's her business, her image, what she does and say in her concerts, her posses in images...its a PERFORMANCE, she has the money and the free clothes...what's wrong with that? scrutinized because she's rich?

I think we all agree that Madonna does not need fashion campaigns to make money, however there is a possibility that the millions who she gets to represent the most prestigious fashion houses are used to raise funds for his foundation in Malawi. Is a possibility.
