Title: Treehuggers
Client: /
Discription: Graduation Project

for more information check: www.rocknrollanimation.nl

The Treehuggers project is based on the research of Gatzes thesis Immersive Animation, in which he tries to answer the question: How can a higher degree of immersion be reached in the medium of animation? Immersion, in the context of this thesis, is the feeling of being or going into an environment.

The end result of the project consists of two parts: The Treehugger Pod and the Treehugger Animation. The first is designed in such a way to form an ideal viewing environment in which the immersive animation can be experienced. The animation in its turn is designed to immerse the spectator as much as possible, based on the theories presented in the thesis. A short clip of the animation can be seen above this text.

The world of the Treehuggers itself, is a place that is extremely environmental friendly. The people in this world are very conscious of their environment and live in harmony with all living things. This overall view on life has resulted in a very unique architectural style and technology, that has as
little impact on the environment as possible and uses wind, water, solar and muscle power in inventive ways.
