Jesse Hirsh host of 3D Dialogue interviews Carl MacMillan from L'Arche Daybreak about the organization and it's founder Jean Vanier.
"In L'Arche, people who have developmental disabilities and those who come to assist share life and daytime activities together in family-like settings that are integrated into local neighbourhoods. L'Arche in Canada has nearly 200 homes and workshops or day programs." - http://www.larche.ca
Anyone here actually work with L'Arche? I am thinking about joining them as an assistant. ( I really could use the Americorps scholarship)

hello :) my name is John. I'm a huge admirer of Jean Vanier, I really look up to him, and this is how I know of L'Arche. I too have a similar idea that I hope to do soon but for the homeless.

So glad this is posted. I am a L'Arche assistant in Tacoma, Washington. I love L'Arche, and think the word needs to get out about this wonderful organization. I also actually know someone who used to live, years ago, at Daybreak.
