Exactly. More and more I am seeing talk about how fast a drummer is. That's great but it's not going to get you gigs if you just play fast. The most important thing about being a drummer to keep as perfect of a tempo as you can and put a feel and groove to your playing. Also, a lot of drummers that play fast don't realize that they lose the dynamics and feel because they're hung up on how fast they play. It's more important how your drums will fit in a song to make it sound good.

A had the opportunity to play with Tony at the Montreal Drumfest that same year. We (the band) were just completely blown away by him. And YES he was able to play music. And keep a groove happening and drive a whole band. Since then i have to say i believe in re-incarnation.. No other ways to explain that. And by the way, after 3 or 4 days around french people he was speaking a pretty good french!

Yo 36mobin, doesn't matter if it's a drum SOLO or not, speed is barely half of what matters. What matters most is that this whole solo is great to watch & hear because he plays with feel and its not the same thing over & over.
Yeah, I know yr only 13, I was a 13 year old musician once too so I know that you think speed is where its at, I did too. But the sooner you realize its not the only point, the sooner you'll play like the greats. Good luck dude.
