@GratefulVince swordfishtrombones, closing time or rain dogs you should get first, those are the albums that are not so 'experimental' like the black rider or real gone.

And if you listened to those (or one of them), you should get nighthawks at the diner or blood money.

Actually i reccomend all his albums becous i abslutely adore him and his music, but you have to start somewhere right? ;)

I just got Mule Variations and it is my first Tom Waits album. I love it and was wondering what I should get next. My friend tell's me "Swordfishtrombones" should be next, followed by Rain Dogs and Franks Wild Years. Would you agree or no?

i can never understand what draws me to his songs, but after hearing them they get stuck in my head like that annoying song that just keeps replaying and replaying, except there not annoying and its very pleasent
