I'll apologize for the sound quality in advance, but this is too sweet not to post. Phil Lynott and Michael Schenker showed up to jam with Wild Horses (Robertson/Bain) at the Electric Ballroom on 12/1/1979. This song was the end result. Enjoy!

  • Sounds like a pub band to me

  • @peterdsalmon

    Sounds like Lynott to me.

  • This does not sound anything like Michael Schenker. He has always had a total distinctive tone to his guitar. and this doesnt even sound like Phil Lynnot on vocals what is this.

  • @MrSmokeydog

Then youre just a deaf idiot, considering the amount of posts from people WHO WERE ACTUALLY PRESENT WHEN THIS HAPPENED.

    Better listen to it again.

  • Did Phil and Mike really jam together ?

  • Yes, and this wasn't the only occasion. This is just the only occasion it was recorded.

  • Imagine if Schenker joined Lizzy instead of Snowy White! Gorham and Schenker - that would've been fantastic.

  • Lol I was at that gig

  • @MrSmokeydog It's definitely Lynott, and Schenker wouldn't have had his usual gear - Flying V, Marshall, etc. - at an impromptu jam.

  • @UliJones Yes, and Gary Moore was also asked to join UFO! Imagine if they'd simply swapped the two best guitarists of the era...

  • @ZYVZX The bottle? You mean he wasn't up to the task? OK. I like them both but they have 2 totally different styles. Michael is great, Eddie is a GENIUS! Please, no pissing contest. Eddie probably knew he wouldn't last in UFO, especially with Mogg but theire styles of music are totally different. Schenker used to write most of the music so if Eddie joined HE would have written most of it. It would have sounded like VH.

  • @MOED812 you are correct,Van Halen is overrated skunk

  • @DiBiasehere This here is an insult to even put Schenker and that Van Halen in the same sentence. Come on now Dannel!

  • @ZYVZX Ya gotta be kidding,Van Halen could not tie Schenker's shoe..come on now ya

  • @ZYVZX It is true, Schenker on camera said he turned down band gigs during the MSG solo stages, late 79 onward, just to do what came to him, from the heart, his own music without the democracy of a band

  • @MetallicBill I read that in an interview from here

go to daveling dot co uk doc ufo to find the interview.

Its in the articles section, under classic rock with Hendrix on the cover, ufo words on bottom.

It was actually Paul Raymond who said it, not Phil Mogg.
