My Playstation 3 got this yellow light of death, just 2 days before GTA IV was released...
This is an EARLY 60 GB version.
It has now been replaced by Sony, and the new one works perfect.
Please, no fanboy comments...

My ps3 was off... why did this happened!? The light went down and when it came back I tried to turn it on and now it's dead... FML

I got the yellow light a few days ago.
I was playing Mortal Kombat 9 (2011) doing the fight ladder as Scorpion. Fighting Shao Kahn, I threw Scorpion's chain spear (His famous "C'MERE!" quote plays), and RIGHT before it hit Shao Kahn, literally a NANO second before it hit him, the game froze and the yellow light flashes. I was all "Oh FUCK! NO!"
I reset the system, and it worked properly again. I swear I shat bricks when it happened.

My PS3 use to give me the yellow light of death...but then it took an arrow to the core processing unit :)

Does anyone know what causes the Yellow Light of Death? Cause I'm thinking its overheating thats causing it I'm not sure.

@francisjairam It could be overheating, it could be hardware-error. It's just a general "I GOT AN ERROR"-light.

I never had this problem before what's yellow light of death means ??Overheat??Or what i use it for 3 years and still No probblem

@hadi257 The yellow blinking light means something went wrong. There are a lot of different error-codes, depends on what broke.
Some say it's overheating, but in my case, it was something else.

How did you get Sony to replace your ps3? Mine just died yesterday :(
