The Subaru Forester has matured into an excellent do-anything vehicle, and with a 210-horsepower turbo model on tap it no longer feels as though it's having trouble getting out of its own way. Tidy dimensions, standard all-wheel-drive, enough room for a family of four and commendable crash-test results all add up to an excellent urban utility vehicle. If you're shopping small crossover SUVs, the 2005 Subaru Forester deserves a test drive.

  • @LLCoolPass Is stupid to be mad because someone is stupid... You should be mad at yourself to.

  • Yeah. Everybody just loved the Pontiac Aztec.

  • Well Subaru is simple and robust cars. Nothing fancy but reliable and solid stuff. As for the forester 2005 it is extremely good in snow (fitted with proper tires) and it does a decent job in mud and other difficult terrain as well. It is not an off roader but it actually does a pretty decent job in rough terrain! A great car if you don't care much about looks but want something that simply works and get you from A to B 99% of the time!

  • what a stupid man is just another amazing and perfectly beautiful forester like all subarus

  • Its funny that he would want all that for 3k extra considering nowadays 3k in options would be dwindled on that in-dash navigation and satellite radio alone, and if your LUCKY the rest might go to those special tires, maybe rims, maybe just another type of tire doubtfully both...

  • listen, stop copy and pasting things you dont know. if you have some special version of the forester, please, say that and share with people what special stuff it comes with. but dont mislead people watching a review of the forester in this review. marketing in the us has been misleading people that their forester automatic has awd and transfer power from wheels that slip to wheels that grip which is absolutely untrue, marketing wizardry.

nonexpert, then why do you speak

  • The model I have is the CroSSport Forester with the TD5 turbo NOT available in the US just click my name and you should see it in some of my vids I am no expert but I know what I was told when I bought it btw I imported it directly from Japan.

  • no you fool, that's the VTD system. that isn't on the 4spd forester1 stop copy and pasting stuff from the internet, yet, still being wrong, because it makes me mad that people can be so STU PID

  • I respect that you work on them but The system is known as Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and As with Active All-Wheel Drive, an electronically controlled variable transfer clutch distributes power, but through a planetary-type center differential and a viscous-type limited-slip rear differential. Torque distribution is normally configured at a performance-oriented rear-wheel-biased 45/55 split front to rear. Sensors monitor the same parameters as for Active All-Wheel Drive.

  • i work on foresters, i know what htey have and don have -- they have 4spd automatic with part time awd system
