The Museum of Modern Art, also known as MoMA, is one of New York City’s main attractions as its premier modern art museum in Midtown Manhattan. This world class museum is an important collector and is arguably the most influential museum of modern art in the world. You can expect paintings and sculpture by the great names in modern art such as Van Gogh, Picasso, Dali, Warhol, Gauguin, Monet, Matisse, Pollock, Wyeth and Ernst. Not only will you find the typical media such as those above, but also examples of modern architecture and design, drawings, photography, prints, illustrated books and artist's books, film, and electronic media. The Museum of Modern Art is located on 53rd Street, between Fifth and Sixth Avenues in Midtown. There is a fine dining restaurant in the museum along with a café. The MoMA is open Fridays after four PM for free which is worth looking into because it has a fairly pricey entrance fee.
