Urm... lot's of questions ... The camera I've used for Nutty Joes and my next short (Danny Silk) was a standard Sony digital camera, but I am moving over to a Nicon D40 stills camera.
As for wire models: It depends on the character and what movements they will be doing in a scene. I sometimes have to make several repeat versions of one character as they tend to get dirty and unusable rather quickly.
Wood: doesn't matter - as long as it keeps the set still and is sturdy.

I use the istopmotion program on my mac computer - it is rather good and easy to use.
The brick/wallpaper you can get in most good dolls house shops along with the doors and windows. They don't always stay secure in the cardboard set, so you may find it helps to use a little blue tack here and there... or make a wooden set for better stability (as I am now doing).
Good luck

Bloody hell! that was imense... you must have so much patience! and thats your first ever animation?! now i'm not usually 1 to suck up but... wow! wot type of clay do u use? and how many fps do u use

oh thanks Tim, that comments made my day.
I use good old plasticine as it's very easy to mould .. and I used 12 FPS on this animation - but I'm moving up to 24 for my future projects.

Bloody Hell! thats jus under 10,000 frames how long do u think (on average) doing claymation a day??? i'm just starting but this vid has inspired me to make sets and long projects! cheers frm Tim

This project took me six months to do the animation .. then another five fore music, sound design and special effects. So patients is something you certainly need for animation.
My recent project is shorter in length, but took longer to animate - it is a lot better than the nutty joe's though (if I do say so myself).
Look forward to seeing your's
