Videos taken by Mark Pendergrast while researching his book, INSIDE THE OUTBREAKS, in a village in Niger in West Africa. At first the children surrounding him are shy, but once the ice is broken, they sing a song in Djerma, their native language. Pendergrast ends with a quote from INSIDE THE OUTBREAKS, explaining that one out of every four children in Niger dies before the age of five.
