Shot during the Summer of 2009, this clip features two BNSF loaded coal trains on their Butte Subdivision in southwest South Dakota. The action is based around an abandoned munitions base called Ft. Igloo which sits next to the mainline just south/east of the crew change point at Edgemont, SD. The abandoned fort looks like a great place to explore, but it is closed off. However, there is a road overpass that's barely used that spans the tracks and that's where the first train is viewed as it climbs up out of the Cheyenne River valley and Edgemont. This location is about 7 miles uphill out of Edgemont.

The second train is viewed about a mile further south east along the main in Provo, SD. The old church at the fort makes for a nice backdrop.
