Casting Resin Rings - CRAFT Video Podcast

In this video I walk through the process of making rings out of clear polyester resin, a type of moldable plastic. I show you everything from mold-making to embedments. I used this same technique to make my RFID rings, which are clear plastic containing unique microchips useful for electronics projects where you want to identify a specific person wearing one. Thanks to Townsend Atelier for the sample of Knead-a-Mold, a welcomed (and much easier to work with) alternative to pourable silicone for mold-making.

Goggles: MEKP (hardener) will blind instantly.

ID10T: Wear a respirator with an OV filter unless you're retarded (because you will be if you keep using it without vapor protection).

15 drops is too much MEKP for that size mold - It destroys the clarity and causes cracking/crazing. That's also why it set up so fast.

you shouldnt be doing resin shit, for real, i mean, this is the worse tutorial i have ever seen...from the moment you started making the mould i KNEW you didnt even knew what you were doing what a waste of sillicon, and resin...

btw, those are fucking ugly rings, i cant even stare at the second clear one you did...no words to describe how stupid you are to work with this kind of materials, you shouldnt be doing tutorials, please quit.

hi i want to have a try of this, i have seen some easyflo 6, some rtv silicone rubber mould and some release spray, i was just wondering what sort of temperature you should leave the resin to set in, i would be doing it in my shed so it would not be too warm or too cold. Any help and tips would be great :D thanks
