  • see that fucking alien in the back right at the beginning?

  • The main passage that they use in Charismatic churches is when the men listening around on the day at Pentecost is that he pointed out that the men, "Were simply drunk," but Peter denied this because he said that they could not be drunk because it was only 9 a.m. But I think with Biblical research, it is evident and indisputable that these men were definitely speaking an identifiable language, which is why the men of the languages' region were able to understand them.

  • Glossolalia is the speak of goblins, fairies, angels, ultraterrestrials, and of course, the speak of the devil.

  • @recshooter Yes, I do. On the other hand I am inclined to believe these tongues have more to do with the purpose of spreading the Gospel.

    God bless!

  • @Lepsaeus That is my point. I believe tongues can be heard as a natural language and/or a supernatural one. Two types if you will. If I speak in a natural language (of man) but I have no understanding I don't see how that would edify me. I could be wrong. However, Paul says that speaking in tongues (supernatural one) edifies the speaker. Why? Because that man is speaking to God not men. He goes on to contrast that with prophesying which is intended for men to understand. Do you see what I mean

  • @recshooter Would it suffice you if I had started off with " Besides" before "Mysteries..." ? The "Mysteries" in the intended context are any pieces of information based on divine revelation and often regarded as beyond human understanding. But then if this is a "tongue that no one understands but God", how it would edify a person as well? I think it falls on you to answer the question, not me.

  • @Lepsaeus the next two verses say: 3But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort. (No mention of mysteries spoken here) btw what epistles were being read in the Corinthian Church at this time? 4He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.

How would speaking an unknown natural language edify a person?

  • @recshooter Hello!! Because no one happened to recognise the foreign тongue that was being spoken in praise of God at the time. Mysteries are spoken whenever we do services reading the Epistles and believing in them.

    In IHS, Lepæus

  • @Lepsaeus 1 Corinthians 14:2 For one who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God; for no one understands, but in his spirit he speaks mysteries.

Paul says there is a tongue no one understands but God.
