Coldplay: Viva La Vida - VIOLIN cover This is the 4th in my series of classicalized popular music. It was requested by Paul ("vikinglover1"), James, and many others.

Trained as a classical violinist, I like having exact sheet music to practice or perform from. So I transcribed a part for myself by ear, listening to the original video, seen here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44xirQ55IgA

Technical notes: My camera is junk. I cant even record sound off it anymore, most of the time its full of random static. I have to use a separate sound recorder and the sync it up to the video in my editing suite. For this recording it was my computer recording sound off an ancient $5 microphone, the same one I use for VOIP in online multiplayer gaming, its junk. I am surprised it sounded as good as it did most of the time quite frankly (except when I play an F natural, those just break up with this mic).

Performance notes: To the critics: I know, my intonation was iffy at best. My already beat up right arm was injured again last week doing some construction, I cant keep it up high enough where it needs to be, it hurts real bad and its like its never going to get better ... so nothing about my bow arm, I know already. Fair enough?

All that aside, Enjoy!

  • WooooW!!!! I`m learning to play the violin!

  • Awesome!

  • @drbilderburger . for the viola, which notes do u play as flat?

  • @PacManPark - all notes marked as such. Starting with what is marked as flat in the key signature, in this case: B,E,A, and D. Add to that whatever other note marked by an accidental flat in front of it as the song unfolds, unless said flat is canceled out by a sharp or natural sign in front of the note. Additionally, all standard music notation rules apply. Now for viola, it is the same as any non-transposing or "c instrument".
