2000 Mustang GT with Knocking/clicking noise after short block swap and heads rebuilt. Knocking/clicking noise very noticeable once you start playing with throttle.

  • Not only was I convinced but 2 other mechanics told me that my lifters were bad. I bought a new set of lifters, soaked them over night (like they should be) and the problem went away. About 2-3 weeks later, I heard the same once again. But this time it was a more obvious lower end knock that turns out it was a rod bearing the get-go. I ditched my 00 engine and sourced for an 04 (aware of the Windsor vs Romeo differences) and haven't had a problem ever since.
