I am a Desert Storm and Iraqi Freedom veteran who sought help for PTSD. The federal government has taken away my second amendment rights because of it. HR 2640 veterans disarmament act, like me you can never buy or posses a weapon again. I feel the appreciation for my service

@caisonsdad My father was in desert storm also so i have very much respect for your service my dad has PTSD, his hands are messed up like his nails are gone, and his skin is peeling off of his hands, from disarming explosives so i have respect for you.

I meant that I am not disqualified under my circumstances according to the exception, it is time to do more digging. I wish I had known a problem existed sooner. I worked outt of country for nearly 5 years and tried to fix this with attorneys thinking it was an easy fix. I should have been filing law suits from day 1, my rights were violated by this Probate Judge in numerous ways. In Alabama, a Probate Judge does not have to be an attorney, he is elected. I think this one is a Real Estate Agent.

I suggest that my fellow veterans download a copy of Federal Form 4473 and read the definition of COMMITTED TO MENTAL INSTITUTION and then read the EXCEPTION to 11 f. NICS Improvement Amendments Act of 2007 if you want to know what I am talking about. I found it a rather interesting read. According to the way this reads I anot disqualified under my circumstances but then again I was denied in 2009. Now I am questioning exactly how the court reported this because the State will not show me this.

Your V.A. file is private at the moment, being 100% should not disqualify you for weapons purchase. Under exceptions on form 4473 where you have to check if you have been committed to a mental institutuion, which I am sure you were sent to a V.A. hospital to get that rating, you do not have to check yes if it was a government agency such as the V.A. for example as apposed to a State agency like me. It also states I do not have to check yes for several reasons but it is too much to go into here.

@caisonsdad i cant own or posess a firearm either but im rated at 100% pnt for ptsd. it sucks but there is nothing i can do about it.

I am just venting guys, I am making new attempts through the courts now in 2012 to get a copy of a case file that I should have access to anyway and I am preparing to request the competency hearing. It will be with this same corrupt Judge and it is tough finding an attorney in this County that wants to piss him off. Just be warned, it is that easy for a vet to lose his gun rights on the Federal Level through a simple County level action. FBINICS states my only way to fix this is at County level

I then got a call from a friend who works at the sherriffs department asking me if I had done something wrong. Of ccourse I told him no and asked him why he was asking. he told me they had posted a picture of me on the dispathers wall in the sherriffs department. I called the sherriff and asked him why and he stated that the Judge though I might be angry and just wanted them to keep an eye out for me. I live 600 miles away and this was 6 years past at that time. They really are that dumb in AL.
