  • Hi Charlie. This was was so nice to watch. I'm Barbara Butler...the late, great Floyd Phillips' girlfriend. I loved seeing all the shots, esp. of Floyd & Jamo (Barry Harrison)...& Randy Lippincott, too. I have a few shots myself...from some gigs that Floyd did w/you @ Chicago Blues...that I'll try to convert to digital & get to you. Happy Holidays to you & yours...& again...thanks so much for posting this.

  • My first paying gig was at Dan Lynch, back in the mid-80s...a trio gig with a fine harp player from Brooklyn named Spencer Jarrett. I played guitar and was scared shitless, but after a couple of tunes I had a blast and made 35 bucks. Many fond memories of Dan Lynch. I practically lived there for a decade.

  • Nice job! I used to hang out at Dan Lynch's around 80-81. I was 15, and I remember the waiter telling me "we don't like people sitting here if they're not going to drink", at 3 on a Sunday! I remember lots of great music and some pretty mediocre music, but Bill was a really sweet guy to everyone. I remember him singing a Johnny Cash song (Folsom Prison?) with his daughter, who was about my age. I was smitten, for sure!

  • Hi Mr. Hilbert

I am an old friend of Bill Dicey we played and hung out at the Dan Lynch Blues Club.

I was with the Relentless Blues Band 78-81 we were the house band 79-81 at Dan Lynch. It would be nice to see or hear any of our sets there. If you know of anyone that has vid footage or the bootlegs please inbox me.

    Thanks.

  • Nice song, Charlie, and I enjoyed the pictures from the olden days.

  • This is a really sweet cut thanks

  • Real nice...

  • I can hear Nat's voice in my head still, laughing and cajoling and spurring us on to play and "Show me sumpthin now!" ...Nat always talked of you & Adam with such love and respect, it was easy to see that you had made huge impacts on him. I think you were the bar by which he measured others. You were The Standard Nat was the real thing, and Charlie Hilbert and Adam Gussow are the real thing too. NAT RIDDLES ~ GONE BUT NOT SILENCED with much love & respect from Cuzn Ron and the Richmond krewe
