¿Qué pasó con el micrófono del suelo?

Nice. Great music. The best version on YT is Nicholas Spanos's.

Caballe' is a great soprano, of course, but after Spanos, Cencic and Minenko this aria doesn't sound beautiful in her rendition at all. Her coloratura here is the worst part! Sorry.

I understand your point of view. My favourites are Marilyn Horne and Ewa Podles (the two greatest Rossini singers ever) while Minenko comes very close to them too. Caballe is definitely not at her best here, although she still shines at moments.

I agree that Caballe' is not at her best here but still her voice is good enough. It's about her embellishment that doesn't convince me. It sounds out of style to me, like La Traviata, perhaps. Also it doesn't matter much to me if it's a soprano or contralto. Horne and Podles are great too! I don't know who is the best interpretor of ALL Rossini. I just find that this wonderful aria sounds most beautiful in countertenors's versions. Can mention also Kowalski and Daniels. It's only my opinion.

Yes, Daniels is great too. Never heard Kowalski's version though. But I have a recording of Rene Jacobs singing it, accompanied by a pianoforte. His very own unique ornaments included. :)
