This is a test for the new electribulator module. It's a "nearly realtime" notes detector (monophonic).

You just have to use an analog input of you sound card, and the software will translate the note your are "whistling" into a MIDI Note On & Off. Then i sent it to electribulator to let the EMX-1 play a nice sounds.

  • i can see how this works with coils and capacitor filters to pick out the frequcies, but i dont understand how a computer can be programmed to act as a tone filter and then set it to midi. great work! computer genius!!

  • @boxa888 I've simply used a fourrier transform and search for the more "powerfull" frequency band. (Used Fmod library to help me). After that i know wich note is played, and I can send a midi note :) But i wouldn't be able to do it electronically, that would be cool too.

  • HI u I HAVE I BIG TROUBLE WITH CONECTING WITH MY EMX1 TO ELECTRIBULATOR. CAN U SHOW ME A SIMPLE WAY TO DO THAT? THANKS

  • SRY I FORGET ... I HAVE A CLASIC MIDI CABLE (5DIN-USB) , EMX1 AND WIN7 AND I REALY DONT KNOW HOW TO CONECT ALL TOGETHER

  • @105BPM Hi,

First, You doesn't speak about a keyboard or a sequencer. What will you use to produces notes on & off ?

Then after that, electribulator (when configuring it) is waiting for wich midi input to use as notes producer (your keyboard or a software ...).

Then after that will as you for the midi output (where the EMX is connected to).

    (last option is not needed).

  • @105BPM So there 2 way to connect.

First with a software sequencer as note producer :

Cubase -> virtual midi cable (LoopBe for eg) -> Electribulator -> your midi cable -> EMX1

Second with a keyboard (not the keyboard from EMX take care) :

MidiKeybaord -> One midi cable to input on computer -> Electribulator -> 2 nd midi cable -> EMX1.

I hope that help you a little bit.

In case no, please contact by using my website "communications" system if you want realtime debugging :)
