@gagnonstudio how do you use a retardant?

BUBZZBEAUTY !

I am not a big fan of acrylics I had many a good brush ruined by them...retarders don't slow the drying time enough. If they dried about the time alkyd oils did it would be perfect(maybe just a few hours faster)

just starting to watch your series... I think you meant to say "transparent" @ 1:45 Small detail, but kinda messes with a beginners head! lol J/K looking forward to picking up some tricks along the way...Thanks

@gardenofarcane Yes I know that. The brushes may be dirty, but not the bristles. Besides, who are you to say, every painter does what they are comfortable with, and what does this guy's painting look like when he's done with them? MINT and realistic. Also, painting with natural light is better than lights, notice how he's sitting right by that window? I don't see any videos on your channel showing brush & palette care. Alright I love ya buddy but ya blew it, capiche?

@low72 If you dont clean your brushes they stop working properly you cannot make long strokes. And dirty brushes give you dirty and muddy paintings. Palettes should be wiped clean too, cause you wont know what shitty tone of brown you are mixing lol!

@gardenofarcane umm...it's called painting...have you seen the majority of painters? all of their palettes have layers upon layers of dried paint on them. why would you even bother cleaning your brushes? waste of time that could be spent painting instead if you ask me
What about using a retardant?

You can use a retardant too. I guess it depends on how fast you want the paint to dry. You can also use Golden Open Acrylics, which dry much slower than normal Acrylics.
