Main Street Georgetown

"The officials of Georgetown Township, MI, have historically ignored planner's advice regarding developments across the township. Main street is absent, sprawl is evident and infrastructure challenges are visible throughout.

The question now is: Do we allow Space Source/Spartan Stores to build a 19 acre PUD on a 30 acre flood plain zoned LDR? This land has been the site of Georgetown Little League since 1967 and is located at the edge of what should be our towns main street. If the PUD is approved, we will lose this green space, our children will be moved to the far corner of our township to play baseball under high tension power lines and Spartan Stores will vacate their 2 locations in our community to move to the proposed location. Georgetown Township currently has 43 blighted, empty or available properties."
