In the 2008-2009 school year, 557 students dropped out of Norfolk Public Schools - 447 of them African American. In Portsmouth, 327 students dropped out - 252 African American. In Virginia Beach that same year, 446 dropped out - 199 African American. Why are our children dropping out of school? And the better question, what are we doing to stop the trend? On the next Another View you'll hear the perspectives of our guests: Reverend Dr. Kirk Houston, President, Norfolk School Board; Dr. Esther Monclova-Johnson, Director, Equity Affairs for Virginia Beach Public Schools; and Timothy Johnson, Principal, Woodrow Wilson High School in Portsmouth.

  • @ROCKETMAN7806 it not a black show really, it's a show that talks about issues that affect black people deeply..like lifetime show shows about women...or Spike t.v. show shows that men like..but if these issues affect you..then its a show for you...

  • not to sound racist but,is this a strictly black show?
