  • A Land Remembered is the absolutely best book I've ever read! I really didn't want it to end. It made me laugh, cry, and always want more to read. Immediately upon finishing the book I ordered several more of Mr. Smith's books. Thanks so much for an incredible experience...I feel like I was living in those times as I read. God's blessings to all the Smith family.

  • @peggysx Thank you so much for the wonderful comment! May I use it as a testimonial on our family website - Patrick Smith Online dot com?

  • I'm 300 pages deep in A Land Remembered so I will wait to watch this video in case there are spoilers!!! Thanks Patrick...excellent writing...has me reading again after a long break! ;-)

  • @Quaboosttro Thanks for posting that. After you read the book you may want to order the DVD, "Patrick Smith's Florida, A Sense of Place," available at PatrickSmithOnline.

  • I finally got to read this book, and it is the most powerful story of Florida I have ever read. I choked back tears with the passing of every character, as they came alive to me in a powerful way. THe ending was poignant yet so realistic, it speaks of the true events that have killed so much of my state. And it reinforced my deep love for my state as a 3rd generation Floridian. Thank you so much Patrick D. Smith!! God bless and keep my beloved state of Florida

  • @thueron Thank you for the comment. I am glad to hear that the book moved you so much. Many other people say the same thing. I'll copy and forward your kind words on to my father, the author. He'll be pleased.

  • You're welcome, Rick. I also read "Forever Island" back in the 70's and it, too, moved me and has stayed with me since. These books should be required reading for everyone working these days up in the state capitol. It is an honor to read your beautiful writing Mr. Smith.
