This is one of my pieces for my scholarship audition for the Berklee 5 week summer program. It's a mixed meter piece. I like to call it my 7 jam... Because it starts in 7, and is pretty much a jam. =) I start out with this cute little beat in 7, then I move it around a little to the toms, then I do some bossanova stuff (the kick is a little hard to hear in that part, sorry), then I just kinda jam. Thanks again to Albert at De Noise studios for filming and doing all the sound work!

=) =) =)

  • Hey Berklee grad here...you sound great! You should have no problem! Just concentrate on your reading, ear training, etc. This piece is strong! Good luck and have a blast!

  • @NJSAG1 Thanks so much! I'll be applying around december... I'm definitely working hard on reading and ear training. I did the campus tour a couple weeks ago, and I'm SUPER stoked.

  • It's well played, but I didn't really get any groove or emotion from it, just seemed like a rhythmic exercise

  • See if you had a cowbell... OMG lol

  • You are really good. I think you should really get into in more. Don't be afraid to jam out ya know? :] There is nothing more awesome than a female drummer with pink in her hair, that is attractive, that can play drums like no body's business.

So ya good luck and keep it up!

  • @GlitchHalo WHOA. Did I just put Bossa Nova there? WOW. Fail. I meant Samba!!

  • Very nice! I saw your other video, and if I were to comment on this piece constructively, I'd say that your Bossa Nova came in suddenly and there was no transition. Just a... jump. Think of the solo like a wave. It doesn't need to be filled with a lot of fills, but it needs to be interesting enough to catch their attention. Soft to hard, slow to fast, doesn't need to be exactly on tempo, but obviously unless you're doing a groove. My point being, you can just add a little more creativity. :) GJ!

  • but really solid piece nonetheless. Really diggin' it when you moved to the toms.

  • Hey that last lick you did that was your "kinda jam," was that by chance Honey Bucket by Melvins? The latter half of that song is like pretty much that same pattern and tempo xD

    or maybe its just common.

  • sounds great!
